This is a special private Tour, designed to give the opportunity even to visitors who are wheelchair-bound (or have motor difficulties) to visit and discover the fascinating archaeological ruins of Pompeii. Buried from the ash of the eruption of Mt Vesuvius in 79 AD, this ancient city is today the most famous archaeological site in the world and, thanks to a special project recently realized by Pompeii Archaeological council and the European Union, today it is possible to visit the site in a wheelchair using the special paths and platforms installed in the strategic points of the city.

Moreover, to give the visitor the most interesting and complete experience possible, thanks to this guided tour it will be possible for the wheelchair-bound visitor to explore the important Archaeological Museum of Naples (also known as MANN). All the architectural barriers inside the museum that could limit the possibility of autonomous movement by visitors with motor disabilities have been eliminated. Ramps and lifts therefore allow full and free use of the museum spaces for all visitors.

This museum houses important collections of the ancient world and above all it hosts many findings from the archaeological ruins of Pompeii, Herculaneum and other Vesuvian cities. Leading visitors throughout the day will be a REAL ARCHAEOLOGIST, a scholar who has dedicated his studies to the archaeological sites of Campania region and will therefore be able to guide you like no other could.

This tour includes both the professional archaeologist for the whole day and a professional driver (with car or minivan depending on the number of people in your group and the needs of the person in a wheelchair. In fact, we also have availability of minivans with ramps in case the wheel-chair is not foldable and can't be put in the trunk of the car). Skip the line included in the ruins, so you will not waste time in line to buy entrance tickets. Quick lunch break if required. (Entrance tickets are NOT included).

You’ll meet our professional driver & our professional English-speaking real Archaeologist by your accommodation/cruiseship in Naples (or Sorrento). You’ll spend 2 hours in each site together with our professional English-speaking REAL Archaeologist and you’ll see some of the most important houses and buildings in Pompeii plus the most important collections at MANN. We usually start the day exploring Pompeii ruins, after that transfer to the MANN Museum in Naples. Of course this tour can be customized to your needs and requests and, if you prefer, we can start it from the National Archaeological Museum of Naples instead of Pompeii.
